Diversity is welcome at The Jolly Brewer Open Mic Nights on Wednesdays. We have previously had people who have stood up (or sat down) in the corner to give poetry recitals, to deliver some stand-up comedy, sing shanties, and the more conventional types of act too. All manner of instruments have been played, from didjeridoo, through mandolins, upright pianos, through many different types of guitar, to the beatbox. There is a thriving percussion division hidden away in Lincoln's local musical talent too. More styles of drum than you could shake a stick at.. boom boom!
sorry. Please excuse the puns, we've even had a regular Beatboxer - well worthy of a mention - in the form of Chucky. Unfortunately, He's moving back up to Newcastle - so we wont see him nearly as much as before. Hopefully though he'll grace us with his beats next time he's down.

Open Mic Night is all about community, and encouraging a relaxed, friendly, positive environment that encourages and brings the most out of the performers. Anyone can play; all it takes is to let Bob know that you want to play on the day, before the actual night starts. See the 'signing up' page for details of how it works. Also - if your're thinking of having a go, check out the 'rules' page too. Note that these aren't really 'rules' as such, but rather 'guidelines' to ensure the smooth running of each wednesday night. As the night will be webcammed, we need as few mishaps as possible.
