Comments:
Act One Springhead Christmas Cranberry and Dixon's Life Saver are the beer connoisseur's choice tonight as Bob blazes the trail with "Down To Size". Our first guest, Mark, introduces a new song, "Gentle Is The Night", which is rather upbeat with a melodic chorus. He follows up with an untitled offering written this very day which he accompanies with some impromptu guitar. Chris Greenstone also has a new composition, "Never Meant To Be" for us tonight and then, having learnt the lesson of the previous week, he follows up with an abridged version of "Words" which works really well. Jason returns from Newark and he's in a rocking mood tonight which he amply demonstrates with Deep Purple's "Smoke On The Water" and a no holds barred cover Pearl Jam's "Even Flow" Next up is Sian, who gives us a brave a cappella version of Florence and the Machine's "The Girl With One Eye" and a brief rendition of "Diamond's Are A Girl's Best Friend". Another welcome visit from John Pape and Steve Lealand brings two very enjoyable instrumentals. John adds a nice spacey echo effect to his slide guitar before they launch into more of a blue rock sound which features some thunderous cajon from Steve. A surprise visit from Graham and Dan bring two of Graham's old faithfuls, "Creeping" and "Ghost" before Rob Sullivan takes us to the break with Joke of the Week. By offering a multi choice of jokes, Rob immediately engages the audience, milking the moment before delivering an hilarious one-liner. It's not strictly politically correct but, of course, that's just the way we like them! Act Two Local pub favourites Helium Three, who are establishing quite a reputation on the Lincoln music scene, begin the second half with a new song from Mark, "Angels And Demons", which is a very gentle offering and features some sympathetic bass from Dave. They follow that up with the much more upbeat "Feels Like Yesterday"
